As a Software Engineer you are part of GLS IT Services and together with teams in Eschborn (Frankfurt a.M.), Neuenstein

(Eastern Hesse) and Portugal (Lisbon) you are responsible for the development, enhancement and operation of the core

business systems with which more than 1 million parcels are delivered in Germany every day.

Responsibilities and Duties

- You take responsibility as an engineer with your team for the sustainable development of your products;

- You work in an interdisciplinary manner with the specialist departments and the customers;

- You implement product ideas based on current technologies;

- Within the framework of DevOps, you are closely involved in all steps of development from design to operation;

- You work on digital products with tangible results that bring joy to people every day.

What we need

- You have a science degree, e.g. (business) computer science / engineering, mathematics, physics or comparable;

- You are a team player, like to share your knowledge and are always looking for a good solution for the team,

product and company;

- You have gained first work experience in professional software development, ideally in the field of logistics;

- Expertise in Java 17+, relevant frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot), and REST-based API design;

- You are familiar with message streaming frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or others;

- You have good knowledge in the area of databases (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL);

- You are familiar with modern CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible;

- Knowledge in the areas of Cloud, Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda);

- You worked already with Docker Containers and Kubernetes;

- Experience with working in an agile team;

- Good English skills complete your profile.
